Relaxing your body and mind with meditation is an excellent way to stay centered in day to day life- it will make that person who cut you off or the rush hour traffic seem much more bearable.

Practicing meditation causes what is called a “relaxation response,” the opposite of the “fight-or-flight” response—what happens to our bodies when we get stressed. This also has positive effects on heart rate, blood pressure, and brain activity, and overall well being.
